Welcome to Sveltia CMS

Welcome to the Docs-as-Code content platform! As a technical writer or subject matter expert, your focus should be on crafting clear, high-impact prose—not wrestling with terminal commands, git conflicts, or local development environments.

Sveltia CMS is your visual command center. It gives you a clean, web-based editor that runs directly inside your browser while saving every keystroke cleanly to our underlying Git repository.

Because Sveltia CMS is a lightweight, serverless single-page app, there is no software or local application to install on your computer.

  1. Navigate to the Admin Portal:
Open your browser and visit /admin/ on your deployed documentation site (or local development server).
  2. Authenticate with GitHub:
Click the Login with GitHub button. A secure authentication popup will appear asking you to authorize access through our OAuth gatekeeper.
  3. Dashboard Access:
Once verified, Sveltia redirects you immediately to your content dashboard.

When you log in, the dashboard presents a high-level view of our entire knowledge base divided into structured Collections:

Collections Sidebar

Located on the left pane, collections map directly to our documentation categories (Architecture, CMS, Components, Guides, and Writer Guides). Click any collection to view its articles.

Search & Filter Bar

Quickly locate existing guides by typing keywords or article titles into the top search bar. You can also sort documents by title, sort order, or last commit date.

Create New Article

Click the blue New Article button in the top right to start a fresh guide with all necessary frontmatter boilerplate pre-loaded.

Live Article Status

Article cards display their current title, sidebar sort number, and last modified date so you know exactly what is live in production.

Sveltia CMS provides two complementary editor modes. You can toggle between them at any time using the view switcher in the editor toolbar:

  • Best for: Everyday drafting, reading flow, quick prose revisions, and inserting visual components.
  • Experience: Similar to modern document editors like Notion or Google Docs. Text is formatted live with headings, styled blockquotes, interactive tables, and visual component cards.
  • Toolbar: Provides instant buttons for bold, italics, bulleted lists, numbered steps, links, images, and custom Starlight components.
  • Best for: Fine-grained formatting adjustments, pasting pre-written Markdown snippets, or inspecting MDX props.
  • Experience: Direct access to standard Markdown syntax and <Component /> tags.
  • No Syntax Loss: Switching back and forth between Rich Text and Markdown modes will never corrupt your custom shortcodes or frontmatter metadata.
